The Site in the Sea
Building a new harbour at Port Talbot - it's a man's world in which the only females are a dredger and two seafaring vessels.
Though directed by a woman, Gloria Sachs, the only other prominent females in this film are a dredger and two ships. It's an ambitious production, with its idealistic tone matched by lyrical music composed by Edward Williams. Williams was a pioneer of electronic music who went on to compose the music for David Attenborough's Life on Earth series.
Documentary telling the story of the building of Port Talbot Harbour, the
biggest construction project of its type in Britain half a century.
