In 1977, a new residential unit has opened in Peterborough for patients with learning and intellectual disability. The live-in centre is a step forward in the treatment of mental health, allowing patients to maintain their independence. The new unit was opened by His Royal Highness Prince Richard the Duke of Gloucester. It provides a safe, secure, and supportive environment where the residents can get involved with a range of activities including pottery, and woodwork.
