Ratcliffe: Derbyshire Hunt

At Monyash in Derbyshire the hunt sets off in pursuit of its prey.

Over the dry stone walls and down the lanes of Derbyshire the High Peak Hunt goes in search of its quarry. This 8mm reel shot by Wilfred Ratcliffe begins with scenes in the picturesque village of Monyash at the head of the beautiful Lathkill Dale. The chase later passes close to the historic Arbor Low stone circle, a primitive location in an area known as the White Peak, perhaps appropriate for this man versus beast contest.
