Rope Maker

John Swallow gets off to a bad start in his interview with Tipton rope maker Alf Langford, whose demeanour doesn't suggest that he is going to be a successful television personality any time soon. However, it is his skill and enthusiasm in making decorative fenders and ropes for the canal boat trade that shines through, although the final rope he demonstrates suggests it's a good point to end the interview.
