Locomotive Manufacture at Vulcan Foundry

The Vulcan works in the Lancashire town of Newton-le-Willows built steam, diesel and electric locomotives for domestic and overseas railways. This fascinating record of the foundry's work includes inspecting valve gear during rolling road testing, an overhead crane manoeuvring a locomotive through the air, and another locomotive leaving the factory on a low loader, bound eventually for Nigeria.
