Fencing Posts

Making a fence post without power tools requires an enormous amount of elbow grease!

Young men compete to make fence posts at the annual sheep dog trials and show at Llanarmon-yn-Iâl, Denbighshire. As power tools are not available it is certainly an activity that favours those with youth and vigour on their side – those seen competing are probably Young Farmers! The footage was shot by W H [Bill] Crawford who had moved with his family to the sanctuary of their holiday home at Llanarmon-yn-Iâl in 1940, after their home in Wallasey, Liverpool, was bombed.
