International Tourist Trophy Race at Dundrod (1955)

Drivers compete in the roads around Dundrod

Taking place in May 1955, the Ulster Trophy Race would be won by Cultra man, Desmond Titterington. This success promised to be the prelude to even greater things, with Titterington competing in the Formula One Grand Prix the following year. Here we see shots of the main stand, cars hurtling round corners and the dangers of the route, as one competitor's car lies crumpled in a field.

Dundrod Circuit is a motorsport street circuit used for the RAC Tourist Trophy for sports cars between 1950 and 1955 and for the motorcycle Ulster Grand Prix from 1953 onwards.
