Documentary about urban deprivation. Three people talk about their experiences and commitments: a union activist, a housewife and a retired fish quay worker. Three main film elements are constructed around these characters and are illustrated by action campaigns to save factories from closure, ship launches, family arguments and aspects of working class leisure activities.
