Some adorable pooches go under the hammer at Crystal Palace at an auction led by local celebrity, actress Gladys Cooper, raising funds for a London hospital.

Topical Budget camera are on hand to capture this odd spectacle, which features actress Gladys Cooper brandishing a megaphone in one hand and a puppy in the other. Cooper, who was born in London and would later receive three Academy Award nominations, is opening an auction of dogs held at the Crystal Palace raising funds for the Middlesex Hospital in the West End (since closed).
