London Tube Extension to Hainault

Short film showing the opening of new stations along the Central Line extension to Hainault, focusing on Hainault itself.

Short, silent black-and-white film showing officials visiting the new station at Hainault for the opening of an extension to the Central Line, the Hainault Loop, which made use of an old branch line called the Fairlop Loop. The extension, which had begun in 1938 but been delayed by the Second World War, opened in 1948 and included the construction of several new stations, including some by noted architect Charles Holden.
