Marldon Apple Pie Fair

A giant apple pie is paraded and on show in this coming together in Marldon to celebrate the humble apple. Marldon hosts a typical English village fête each July with an Apple Pie Princess. Local trader George Hill is pictured here and provides a huge apple pie for the annual church fête delivered by donkey-cart and the tradition has stuck. The carnival atmosphere attracts opera singer Lester Ferguson who cuts the pie in time-honoured fashion. Now, pass the custard!
