Bolton: Skegness 1935

A charming pre-war home movie showing a holiday to Skegness for the Bolton family from Leicester. With donkey rides and ice creams this reel typifies the British seaside resort. In 1935 there were still dray horses on the streets of Skegness and look. Keep an eye open for the Daily Mirror's streamlined 'Jubilee 8' bus marking the Silver Jubilee of King George V and Queen Mary and, with its modern lines, the height of modernity.
