Established in 1992, the South West Film & Television Archive collection spans from 1893 to the present day containing more than 250,000 items. Formed from a variety of depositors, including broadcast news and programmes material from the Westward and TSW archive. In 2018 the archive collection transferred to The Box in Plymouth.

The Dave Clark Five and Catch Us If You Can

This film Catch Us If You Can (1965) is shot on Bigbury Beach in Devon and directed by John Boorman. The band started in 1957 with Dave Clark on drums, Dave Sandford on lead guitar, Chris Wallis on bass and Don Vale on piano. Rick Huxley later replaced Sandford and with the addition of Stan Saxon on vocals the band became known as The Dave Clark Five or DC5. Glad All Over from the album Coast to Coast knocked the Beatles and I Want to Hold Your Hand off the top of the UK chart in 1964.
