Shire Horses (ATV Today)

At Enstone in Oxfordshire Bob Brickell is convinced that he can continue to rely on shire horses in an age of mechanisation.

With horse brasses jangling as they come over the hill Bob Brickell's shire horses are an impressive sight. But how can he farm 500 acres in Oxfordshire utilising four-legged horse power alone? The problem is not the horses but the lack of a good waggoner to drive them. As Brickell tells reporter Lionel Hampden, "They're all in the churchyard now".
