The Wedding of Peter and Judith Elliott

Hats, stumbles and happy faces at this wedding film from 1956, taken at the service and reception of Judith and Peter Elliott in Pinner.

A windy day in Pinner witnesses the wedding of Judith and Peter Elliott in June 1956, who are shown at the service at St John's and then at the reception in Well House, Memorial Park, Pinner. The occasion is impeccably traditional but the surroundings and guests are rather stylish, with extremely elegant, almost 1920s-style, dresses on display. Interesting also to note that one guest is Afro-Caribbean, which is presumably fairly unusual at a suburban wedding of the era.
