Hedge Laying (ATV Today)

At Shrewley in Warwickshire Jack Hyde demonstrates how to lay a hedge that will rank with the finest in the country.

Back in the 1920s when a young Jack Hyde began his hedge laying career his father gave him some helpful advice, "Just carry on ...". Fifty years have passed since then and the recently retired Jack demonstrates a lifetime of hedge laying skills at Shrewley in Warwickshire for the regional news magazine ATV Today. Reporter Lionel Hampden is on hand and unlike many contemporary presenters wisely chooses not to have a go himself.
