Change in Friern Barnet

Tour Friern Barnet and explore the streets, local happenings and developments in an area undergoing rapid change

This amateur film highlights the contrasting changes in the Friern Barnet area as modern developments spring up around the ornate architecture of decades gone by. Highlights include the views of Oxford House, dramatic shots of a fire at Station Road, beautiful images of Friern hospital, as well as a sports day and and open air service of the council of churches.

This film is from the collection of Barnet Local Studies and Archives, a member of the London's Screen Archives Network.
