The Sash My Father Wore

Is mythology stronger than history? Listen to children's takes on why they commemorate the Battle of the Boyne.

Hear what some of the children on parade have taken from the traditions passed down through the generations. Whether seen as celebration or propagation there's plenty to make you smile as well as think in Archie Reid's wry take on the 12th of July.

Archie Reid was a History teacher and prolific film maker. You can find some of his gems on the Britain on Film map ranging from the delightfully absurd to intimate portraits of his home town.
