Street Decorations in Bootle

The Coronation of Elizabeth II in May 1953 was cause for great celebration throughout the country. All ages could join in the fun, making for a day of great festivity. The celebrations in Bootle were only one event of thousands, but are hard to beat for colour, effort and enthusiasm, and this film is an excellent example of a hugely popular subject for both amateur and professional filmmakers.
