Sweets and doves

Weekend treats in Pontnewynydd, Pontypool: sweets and ice-creams for two girls and a visit to the pigeon loft for a boy.

Sugar and spice and all things nice occupy dark-haired Carol Gibbon and her friend at the weekend in Pontnewynydd, Pontypool, giggling at being the focus of Carol's uncle's camera, whilst a boy helps his dad tend the pigeons, descendents of the wild rock dove and occasional eaters of snails but not slugs or puppy dog tails. Uncle George Frederick Grimes (1924-2005) lived all his life in Pontnewynydd and was held in great affection by his neice.
