Fernhurst's Coronation Pageant

A parade of Queens, nations and smock-wearing yokels appear in this elaborate record of Fernhurst's Coronation Pageant.

Produced by a New Zealand couple and donated to the citizens of Fernhurst, this colour film records an historical pageant put on by the village to celebrate the Coronation of their new Queen. What we see is a parade of queens from Mary Tudor to Queen Victoria, accompanied by Prime Minister Disraeli. There then follows a parade of the nations belonging to the Commonwealth, which, for some reason, sees England represented by country bumpkins.
