Sheepdog trials or scarecrow stuffing? The Young Farmers' Club rally at Ashton Hall near Lancaster in June 1950 features a wide range of activities. From the practical - displays of farming machinery and domestic washing machines, to the physical - races, gymnastics and tug o' war, to the creative - an arts and crafts show in the marquee, there is surely something here for every visitor.
