Pub Skittles

Far from the new-fangled 'chrome plated' American import of ten pin bowling this is Gloucestershire's traditional pub version of skittles.

With a history going back hundreds of years the skittle players of Gloucestershire are proud of their heritage. The England test cricketer Tom Graveney is one of the team captains at the Plaisterers Arms at Winchcombe trying out a different ball skill for his winter break. Spare a thought for Tom, the 'sticker', who sets up 1,000 skittles a night, although scoring a Beaver will make his life much easier.
