The Box
Established in 1992, the South West Film & Television Archive collection spans from 1893 to the present day containing more than 250,000 items. Formed from a variety of depositors, including broadcast news and programmes material from the Westward and TSW archive. In 2018 the archive collection transferred to The Box in Plymouth.

Brian Rose is interviewed about the coming season

Somerset captain Brian Rose is interviewed about the coming season and the club have just signed Surrey fast bowler Hugh Wilson who is also interviewed at County Ground Taunton. They are about to go for the renamed NatWest Trophy in 1983. Rose also captained the side to the Benson and Hedges Cup in 1981 and 1982. The left-handed opener Brian Rose led Somerset to their first trophy wins in the Gillette Cup and Sunday League in 1979.

Somerset had the best all-rounder in the world in Ian Botham and two world class West Indian players, Viv Richards and Joel ‘Big Bird' Garner. Victor ‘Vic' Marks was also in the side. His career spans from 1975 to 1988 and he was Somerset Cricket captain in 1989 before going on to cricket commentating and writing. Hugh Wilson played cricket for Surrey, Somerset and the Northern Transvaal in South Africa but never broke into the England side.
