Three Dogs in a Boat

Sink or swim as Rub and his chums are set adrift

Not a witty tour up the River Thames but amusing nonetheless, a trio of Parsons' dogs including one called Rub are set adrift on an unwaterworthy craft on the pond. It's sink or swim. A Labrador retriever and two Jack Russells are playfully filmed sinking and retrieving a rubber duck.

The novel by Jerome K Jerome Three Men in a Boat (to say nothing of the dog), first published in 1889 has been depicted in television and film adaptations. The television series of the same name with comedians Griff Rhys Jones, Dara O'Briain and Rory McGrath sees the trio embark on the original route taken in Jerome's book from Kingston to Oxford along the Thames. In follow-up programmes they take their antics from London to the Isle of Wight, Plymouth to the Isles of Scilly and Dublin to Limerick with Dara's greyhound Snip Nua.
