Camwell Personal Film no. 12: In the Lake District
Amateur film from the Camwell collection showing steam trains and stations around Britain. The film consists of brief shots of station signs and trains entering and leaving the stations and in the sidings. This film features the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway and Bank Holiday special trains from Moor Row in Cumbria. From Lake Side station, a wagon train journey is seen, with the open-topped wagons packed with passengers. Standard gauge & narrow gauge mixed trackwork is seen. Other journeys in the film include the North Warwickshire line on Wilmcote "bank", the Stephenson Locomotive Society/Manchester Locomotive Society West Riding railtour, Doncaster Plant Centenarian specials, Railway Correspondence and Travel Society East Sussex railtour, RCTS Warrington railtour and the diversion of Great Western trains via Bushbury & Stafford. The last section of the film incorporates still images of trains as well.
