Did You See Our "Jalopy" in Chichester?

An unusual film which accidentally captured scenes of Chichester before traffic was banished from the city centre.

This fascinating film captures 1950s Chichester from an unusual perspective. The centre of the action is an open-topped car filled with actors promoting 'Hiawatha', a forthcoming feature film at the Granada cinema. However, while driving around the city, we can see streets filled with traffic; cars, buses, bicycles and shoppers. We also get views of shops and other amenities, including several garages and a quick glimpse of the rival Gaumont cinema at Eastgate.
