Cheese Rolling

Injuries abound as the annual cheese rolling at Cooper's Hill near Brockworth claims its usual victims.

The traditional Whit Monday events at Brockworth in Gloucestershire originally included various attractions from shin kicking to gurning but it is the practice of haring down the precipitous slope of Cooper's Hill in pursuit of a large round of Double Gloucester cheese that has endured. This short news film shot by ATV shows some far from suitably dressed participants risking life and limb in the 1960 event.
