A film maker's attempt to record the last steam-hauled passenger and freight trains running along the West of England mainline from Waterloo

This simply shot film captures a variety of steam-hauled passenger and freight trains working their way towards the West Country in the last year of steam operation from Waterloo. We also glimpse the future in the form of diesel and electric locomotive-hauled trains and multiple units, as well as the down Bournemouth Belle in its last year of operation. Numerous Bulleid Pacifics thunder past including Battle of Britain class 34052 'Lord Dowding' on a down express.
