Ullapool 1949


Amateur film shot around Ullapool in 1949, including nature scenes of birds, and work at the fishing port.

It opens with a scenic shot, and a shot of a nest and a man photographing the same. There are various shots on the rocks and of loch side mountains. The film then moves into the fishing port, with scenes at the jetty and trawlers being unloaded. Woman are shown working,
gutting fish, which are also shown being packed and salted in barrells. Back in the countryside, a stream, ringed chicks and a nest with eggs in are seen. The film then moves onto scenes of the beach and dunes, and shots of more birds eggs. It ends with a shot of the ferry, and van leaving it.
