"Cutting, folding and marking out." Men working, dressed in waistcoasts and
aprons.

"Libertyland. NB They work so fast in this department we thought of putting
this on in slow motion." Shots of women working at sewing machines. Men
walking around supervising.
"The old French room." Women sewing underwear at machines.
"The new French room." More women at machines. Mannequins, wearing underwear.
"Old Ben." Mr Simmonds ironing 'the old way'
"The new way of ironing with quaint electric irons." Ironing with large
cylindrical irons.
The box-making department (mechanised). String making department. Printing
department. Offices with young men and women working at long desks. Designing
officer: preparing travellers' samples.
"The works manager and the lady superintendant have a consultation."
"The kitchen": very spartan looking.
"The club room": lines of chairs in hall.
"The rest room. (showing the solicitude of the new lady superintendent for the
welfare of the girls)." Girls reading. A view of the town from the factory
roof. Workers leaving at lunchtime.
"The recreation ground". Football match played by the 'juniors'. A game of
hockey. New bowling green and tennis courts in the course of construction.
(The rectangular edifice in the background is the oriental cinema. This is the
north side but the best side is the inside).
"Note re-market prices. Corsets are holding firm. Liberty bodices are easy.
Suspenders are keeping up".



"Having seen this up to date film we thought you would like to see the film
taken about 25 years ago."

Includes Mr and Mrs Lumiere, followed by others including children. Closer shot
of workers leaving the factory.
