Summertime Blues in Plymouth (Westward Diary)

There ain't no cure for the summertime blues

There ain't no cure for the summertime blues. This filmclip was originally broadcast as a tribute to Eddie Cochran on the 20th anniversary of the rockabilly star's death following a car accident in 1960 when he was 21. It takes the theme of his 1958 hit 'Summertime Blues' and shows Plymothians basking in the sun and the job centre linking the high unemployment rate of the day and Eddie's song 'about a workin' all summer just to try to earn a dollar'.
