Boys Take Over Railway Station

What happens to a village railway station when it closes? A novel solution has been found at Kerne Bridge in Herefordshire.

Kerne Bridge railway station closed when the Wye Valley line was shut in 1959. The following year news reporter Kit Plant dropped by to find that it has not gone to rack and ruin but is instead a hive of industry with a boys' club from Gloucestershire kitting it out as a new outdoor activity centre. It may not help the village transport problems but at least it is being used.
