Chris Jenkins - my first film 1942

Chris Jenkins – a stalwart of Cardiff Amateur Cine Society and proprietor of a Cardiff hair salon – records his aged parents with tenderness.

Chris Jenkins – who became a long-time member and president of Cardiff Amateur Cine Society - made his first foray into film-making with shots of his aged parents, their pipe and pearls recorded for posterity, with love. Chris himself features on this reel – dressing his mother's hair (he owned a hair salon - ‘Vanda's' - in Charles Street, Cardiff), shearing the grass and walking on his hands, wellies on his feet! His wife, Beatrice, with smart hat, is also seen.
