The Box
Established in 1992, the South West Film & Television Archive collection spans from 1893 to the present day containing more than 250,000 items. Formed from a variety of depositors, including broadcast news and programmes material from the Westward and TSW archive. In 2018 the archive collection transferred to The Box in Plymouth.

Clark's Factory in its 150th year

This film shows the latest Singer sewing machines on a production line at the Clark's factory in Yeovil. The year is 1975 and marks the 150th Anniversary of the the founding of the company by Quaker brothers James and Cyrus Clark.

In the 1950s and 1960s Clarks expanded in the South West before moving its factory operations abroad in the 1970s and 1980s. The Company is still based in Street, Somerset and the last shoe made in the UK was produced in 2006.
